Mission

The Senior Services of Beaufort County is responsible for providing and coordinating services that enhance the quality of life for aging citizens of Beaufort County. We were chartered on April 1st, 1970 as a private, non-profit organization.

Our target population is persons 60 years and older. The 1998 total 60+ population of Beaufort County was 22,190.

Some of the community bases services we provide are transportation, Congregate Dining Program, Service Management, Information and Referral, Outreach, and Health Promotion. We also provide the following home care services: Home Delivered Meals, Homemaker, and Respite. The Senior Services of Beaufort County serves the following areas: Beaufort, Hilton Head, Burton, Bluffton, Port Royal, Lady's Island, St. Helena, Big Estates, Dale, Lobeco, Seabrook, and Sheldon.

The Senior Services of Beaufort County is affiliated with the National Council on Aging, the South Carolina Association of Council on Aging Directors and the South Carolina Federation of Older Americans. Our funding sources are: Federal, State, and local, Beaufort County Council, United Way, Private donations and special fundraising events.
