The district is a unified school district with a current enrollment of 74 students, kindergarten through 12. The campus includes five separate buildings with three containing classrooms: one houses K-5, one houses 8-12, and the district office contains the 6-7 classroom, the computer lab, and library. Adjacent to these three buildings are a separate woodshop/art area and a gym.

The district operates a dorm for high school boys, accepting applications from students throughout the state. Located across the street from the school campus, the dorm has a capacity for seven students.

Spray School District offers a good academic and activities program for all students. Particular progress has been made in upgrading the computer lab and computer technology courses. In addition, all classrooms have a minimum of three computers with Internet access. A typical class grouping is 15 students with elective classes having smaller numbers. A high percentage of graduates go on to institutions of higher learning upon high school graduation.

Spray students have been on a four-day week for the past ten years with athletic events scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays. The school year begins the middle of August and finishes the end of May.
