Mission:

The Church carries out its mission through the ministry of all its members. Supporting the life of St. Gabriel's are various ministries: Acolytes, Altar Guild, Greeters, Layreaders, Eucharistic Ministers, Sunday School and committees on Education, Evangelism, Property. Finance, Outreach, Stewardship, Pastoral Care and Worship. We are pleased to hear your questions or concerns regarding any of these functions.

History:

St. Gabriel's was the dream of two visionary communities. Members of St. Mary's Sparta under the guidance of Fr. Harold Shaffer sought to establish a mission in Milton/Oak Ridge. At the same time Rev. Gerard Pisani, Jr. of the Community Church of Jefferson informed Bishop Leland Stark of his desire to become an Episcopal Priest. In 1965 Rev. Pisani was accepted and with members from both St. Mary's and the Community Church the mission was begun.

In 1968 St. Gabriel's was established the sanctuary was erected in 1971 and the outdoor chapel was built in 1984. In 1990 the vicar's home adjacent to the Church was completed.
