We are commissioned by Christ to proclaim his message of love and grace to those of our churches, community, nation, and world. Therefore we will strive to minister to others in both physical and spiritual needs with guidance from Christ, our Lord, until he returns.

St. Matthew Lutheran Church was organized May 24, 1875. The sanctuary was dedicated January 2, 1876. The first Holy Communion Service was held September 10, 1876. The bell tower was completed in 1892. We celebrated the 100th anniversary of the church May 25, 1975, and we are looking forward to celebrating our 125th anniversary in the year 2000.
