Mission Statement:

The Stambaugh Middle School family is dedicated to creating a safe environment that fosters the academic, social and emotional growth of all students, through highly effective teaching and relational practices, while facilitating independence, cooperation, and a love of learning with the ultimate goal of producing responsible and productive citizens in a changing world.

We are a middle school of approximately 1000 students and 90 staff members who are committed to serving our students appropriately and proactively according to their individual needs in obtaining the necessary skills, both academic and personal, to progress to the next level. We offer a wide variety of programs for students with special needs, as well as for those who are able to accept additional challenges academically.

We have two computer assisted instruction labs operating (Compass software), Art lab, two Reading 180 classes and one business lab as well as an one Internet lab. All students are regularly scheduled for reading lessons. We offer a vocational program in computer keyboarding, agriculture and Family and Consumer Science. A dynamic fine arts program consisting of instruction in art, choral and instrumental music is a vital part of our elective curriculum. Our students who qualify take first year Spanish or French instruction at Auburndale High School. We offer Algebra 1 for high school credit on our campus.
Our teaching staff is committed to ongoing education, and is currently involved in technology training, Kagan Cooperative Learning training and CRISS training which involves reading and writing strategies in the classroom.
