We have developed an outreach to do just that. Street Reach is a non-profit outreach located in Carrollton Texas. This outreach was established in 2007 for the purpose of reaching children and youth living in communities where there are drugs, gangs, crime, and violence. Many of these children are being pulled into this kind of activity every day. The reason is obvious; many of them simply do not have enough positive role models speaking into their lives. Our Street Reach teams go into these communities and teach children faith based family values. As a result we are seeing many of these kids make much better choices for their lives. We have listed several ways you can participate on the "How You Can Help" page. There are several options you can choose from. Please join with us to reach out to these kids. When we partner together we can really make a difference. What is Street Reach? Street Reach is a program that targets at-risk children in the North Dallas area, where we take the message of faith and family values to the streets. Street Reach runs for twelve weeks both in the spring and in the fall. We visit the sites on Saturday morning and plan to add more sites as we develop additional teams. Why is it so important? Street Reach is a powerful tool to reach the children of our community. Statistically, a child's morals are formed by the time they are ten or eleven years old. Their lives can still be changed after that, but it is like working with a rock versus working with Play-Doh. It is easy to mold them in the ways of God while they are still young. Here's How it Works Volunteers arrive at the site an hour ahead of the start of the program, to begin knocking on doors to let residents know that StreetReach will begin soon. As children begin arriving to the site they play and interact with the volunteers. When the program begins the children hear the Gospel message and are encouraged to make good choices in their lives. Throughout the event the children are having a great time, playing games, and receiving prizes. Join the team!!! You can be a part of helping a child grow and become established.
