Sublette County is divided into two school districts for public schools Kindergarten through 12th grade. The northern half of the county is Sublette County School District #1, and the southern half of the county Sublette County School District #9.

Students attending these schools are from Big Piney, Marbleton, LaBarge and the surrounding areas. The facilities for Big Piney schools include a public swimming pool, and a community auditorium for public performances. Big Piney teams are the Punchers with red and white as their school colors. Sports activities include football, basketball, volleyball, track, swimming and wrestling.

Courses include Math, Science, Language Arts, Reading, Geography, History, PE/Health, Art, Band and Choir. Despite being small, our school district has an exceptional school with impressive programs to offer students. The thriving oil and gas industry, both currently and historically, has significantly contributed to the quality of the school facilities available to students in this area.
