The Terrell Chamber of Commerce mission is to improve the prosperity of the businesses, industries and citizens of Terrell through economic development of the area.
About Us
The Terrell Chamber is an independent group of over 500 members including small business, large industry and individuals who feel working together for the economic good of Terrell is in everyone's best interest. Our overall devotion to service and volunteerism is tied together and organized by a talented and devoted staff, steered by a progressively thinking board, and fueled by the most energetic group of volunteers in the country - all with one thing in mind, "what is best for Terrell, Texas?"
Throughout the years, this group continues to organize fantastic local events such as the Heritage Jubilee, Christmas Parade, Lighted Christmas Drive, 4th of July celebration, Kaufman County Leadership, Troop send-offs and welcome home celebrations, ribbon cuttings for new merchants and support efforts for existing business. Little did we know that 2005 would take all this experience and influence the whole country. This Chamber of Commerce was called upon to be the hub of activity for hurricane Katrina relief efforts for over 600 citizens. Acting as "communications central" the Chamber saw churches, civic clubs, schools, charitable organizations like the United Way, Red Cross and literally thousands of local people act as a well oiled machine, not for the betterment of Terrell, but for the care of people in desperate need from other states.
As we look into 2006 there is no limit to what our willingness to be involved and our experience will help us accomplish. We have a great organization run by the fuel of involved members. Our only fund-raiser, the Civic Auction, raised record funds this year for the operation of the Chamber events. This is confirmation from our community that we are doing the right thing and they want us to do more to affect Terrell in a positive way.
