Marne Jaye

Marne Jaye was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and raised in Marin County, California. She graduated from UC Santa Barbara's College of Creative Studies. It was there that Marne's work developed into its own unique style. Marne's oil paintings generally use bright colors with a graphic quality that some interpret as a blend of primitive and contemporary styles. The border literally frames each picture as an intricate lace of people, plants and animals. It is painted with oil paints, a small brush and patience.

Many life adventures have enriched Marne's work, including a safari to Mala Mala, South Africa, where she enjoyed the animals in their natural habitat. Her work draws from a variety of sources including, photographs, imagination and inspiration.

Today, Marne continues to enjoy success through galleries, shows and commission work. Recently, she was invited to participate in "The Painted Violin" fundraiser for the Marin Symphony. Marne shares this honor with other notable artists including Glace Slick, David Getz, George Sumner and Harold Roe.

Marne's original paintings can be seen on public display at Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae, California and Kaiser Permanente locations in Sacramento, Walnut Creek, and Hayward, California. Additionally, appointments can be made at her studio in Marin County.
