Opened onth july in 1876 as a gathering for logers, ranchers andfarmers who freqented the olema valley ,the olema inn was once a part of a 9,000 acre rancho that was granted to raphael garcia by the mexican government .Garcia's son ,felix ultimately lost the Inn in a gambling debt to john nelson, who operated the stagecoach line to san raphel .Three generations of nelsons ran the inn, which was one of the few buildings in the area to survive the infamous 1906 earthquake.
The building was then restored to its original beauty in 1998 when its current owners dana and jenfer puchased it.The floor sets the stage for a memorabledining and lodgingexperience ,in the midst of a stored northern california landmark.
