Pottsville's Third Brigade Band is a non-profit organization and has its origins in the American Civil War. Our band is made up of musicians from throughout Schuylkill County and varies in age and experience. We perform several concerts and parades throughout the year. Some of our projects are supported by Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA), the regional arts funding partnership of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency.

State government funding comes through an annual appropriation by Pennsylvania’s General Assembly and from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. PPA is administered in this region by the Berks Arts Council and the Schuylkill County Council for the Arts. In addition to these organizations, the band receives donations from the community, including its band members. We appreciate everyone's help and generosity in keeping the band strong after all of these years.
