Mission Statement
The Tillamook County Women’s Crisis Center mission is to eliminate domestic and sexual violence in our community.
Our Philosophy
The Women’s Crisis Center is committed to the safety and empowerment of all individuals who have experienced any form of oppression or violence or who perceive themselves to be at risk
We believe that violence of any kind (physical, emotional, verbal, or sexual) is intolerable and everyone has a right to freedom from fear and violence.
We believe violence is a result of a system of oppression.
We believe people possess inherent equality and that discrimination on any basis (sex, age, color, religious, sexual preference, or ethnic background) is a denial of that basic right.
We recognize the need for victims of violence to discuss their experiences with advocates who are empathetic and sensitive to the seriousness of those experiences.
We believe it is crucial that victims are encouraged to make decisions for themselves, and we emphasize our sincere belief in their ability to do so.
We believe people of all ages have the basic right to safety, dignity, respect and equality. They have the right to express themselves, to be heard and to live in a non-violent environment.
