The Torrington Area Youth Service Bureau is a private, non-profit agency located in Torrington, CT.

The Torrington Area Youth Service Bureau provides programs and services which are designed to address the needs of children, adolescents and families experiencing conflict as well as prevention of escalation of conflicts once issues and concerns have been identified. The inclusion of the family is encouraged in all services and programs, as is the promotion of on-going positive youth and family development.

The staff at TAYSB participates in local, regional and statewide committees, task forces and information sharing groups to promote interagency coordination and collaboration. Our involvement in the NW CT Community Council, Connecticut Youth Service Association and the Northwest Careing Connection Collaborative are examples of local and regional connections that are made on a regular basis.

Our services consist of activities which create opportunities for youth to experience meaningful involvement within their families, school, peer groups and/or community; teaching skills necessary to utilize those opportunities and providing rewards for youth who use these opportunities skillfully. Through various community service projects and youth advocacy projects, both adults and youth can work together on important issues that not only aid the community, but also give them a feeling of self worth.
