Town Of Timnath

4800 Goodman Street
970-224-3211

About Us:

Timnath was established in 1882 as a busy hub of fur trading and farming. Its location on the Cache la Poudre River initially attracted people to the fertile land; and over time its proximity to larger communities – Fort Collins to the west, Windsor to the south, and Loveland and Greeley nearby – brought in residents who wanted to get away, but not too far away.

Only a short time ago, Timnath was the size of a small neighborhood, with a quaint Main Street and a population of 230. It became clear to the citizens of Timnath, however, that Northern Colorado offered a highly desirable quality of life. In order to preserve Timnath and not be absorbed into surrounding communities, the residents chose to proactively plan for people and families looking for a genuine small town with access to I-25, CSU, Budweiser Events Center, Centerra Mall and other regional amenities, a historic core, good schools and good neighbors. In the next 20 years, Timnath will grow 27 square miles adding 20,000 new residents.

Yet, even present changes have a link to Timnath’s past. Historic farms that once defined Timnath are now becoming vibrant neighborhoods that continue to value the connection to the land, emphasizing views and access to open space and trails. Likewise, Timnath has vested itself in continuing to build strong connections between Old Town Timnath and new developments. Today, Timnath finds itself once again at a busy crossroads as it becomes a community that prides itself on its connection to its past as it progressively plans and builds for a sustainable future.
