My husband, Jeffrey and I began this foundation in memory of our two sons, Ben and Josh, who died as a result of complications from the Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome. TTTS is a disease that occurs in pregnancies where two or more babies share a placenta. It affects approximately 8,500 babies annually and is fatal to about 5,000 of those. TTTS is not hereditary or genetic, nor caused by anything the parents did or did not do. The cure? There isn't one yet. However Dr. Julian De Lia, currently the medical director of the International Institute for the Treatment of Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome in Milwaukee, has saved many babies and we are dedicated to helping both his research and the TTTS Foundation to reach out as wide as possible to help ALL families dealing with this horrible condition
