We have many initiatives that are happening in our school community.  Our learners have started a vegetable garden and are continuing to compost breakfast and lunch waste.  We strive to make healthy choices and are members of the 100 Mile Club, as we participate in Fitness Fridays.  We are "building" a Motor Room (formerly known as Sensory Room), which our learners will utilize during the school day.  And, we're welcoming a therapy dog into our Speech Therapy to support students who may have anxiety, or stress-related behaviors.

Our teaching team spent many hours this summer in professional development trainings and workshops.  Seniorita Zeeff worked with the World Language department to adopt a more rigorous and engaging Spanish curriculum that will be introduced in kindergarten.  Mrs. Hvambsel is working with our athletic trainer on the Physical Education curriculum to offer added substance.  Many teachers worked on Language Arts and Math curriculum, to fine tune and adjust.  Others attended trainings that focused on best practice teaching strategies and interventions for all learners.  If you think that teachers take three months off in the summer, please think again!
