In the early 2000's, Brian and Andrea Brinkert were part of a church planting team in Cedar Rapids, IA. During that time, they began sensing a call of their own to plant a Vineyard church in a Midwestern college town. In 2003, they moved to Mankato, drawn by the mix of people, the growing nature of the community and the way it just felt like "home." In addition, Mankato's geography provided a fun confirmation to the name of the church - Two Rivers - representing the way Jesus changes people's lives with his power and truth. 

In January 2004, seven adults met in a living room for the first Two Rivers small group. By the following spring, plans for launching public services started to come together. In July 2005, nearly thirty friends from Vineyard churches in MN and IA descended on Mankato for our first "sneak preview" weekend. We entered a float in the North Mankato Fun Days parade and gave away free bottled water while we invited people to the service the next day. Two months later, Two Rivers Vineyard Church officially launched. 

In December 2010, after five and a half years of meeting at the Lincoln Community Center, setting up and tearing down for church each week, TRVC moved into its current full-time location at the Madison East Center.

Two Rivers has continued to grow, as small groups have been added, kids ministries expanded and leaders developed. Most importantly, people's lives are being touched by the power and truth of Jesus Christ. We are eager to see what God has in store for our church and our city in the years ahead.
