The History Of United Holiness Church:
In October of 1971, God instructed the late Evangelist Aaron Snipes Sr., of Americus, Georgia to erect a gospel tent in Montezuma, Georgia. He along with his wife, Evangelist B. Snipes, their children and the crusade team conducted tent revival services there for approximately three weeks. The tent became a place of worship for over 100 members through November, 1971. This resulted in the birth of 1st United Holiness Church. After leaving the Healing Temple Church, under the leadership of the late Bishop P.J. Welch, God impressed upon Evangelist Snipes to begin United Holiness Church. It was organized in his home in April 1973. The church was then adopted and established on April 5, 1973 with the original location of United Holiness Church Headquarters being in Montezuma, Georgia.
On May 25, 1973, United Holiness Church was duly chartered in the state of Georgia with Evangelist Aaron Snipes, Sr., being the Founder and Overseer. Thereafter, a building, the Pillar Ground and Truth Church basement was located as a place of worship for the Americus members in 1974. While driving down Mayo Street one day, God instructed the Founder to look behind Mann's Service Station at the property located there. God told him that that was where he wanted the headquarters church to be erected. In obedience to God and with dedicated labor, solicitation and fund raising projects, construction began on headquarters church. God again spoke to Evangelist A. Snipes in their First National Grand Fellowship Assembly, September 1974 and said that their next assembly would be held in the new headquarters church located in Americus. As God had said, the service was conducted in September, 1975.
In August 1977, United Holiness Church, Headquarters was officially dedicated to the Lord. The churches within the body would be named consecutively according to number sequence. UHC Headquarters, based in Americus, was never intended to be numbered in the numerical sequence, but was to remain neutral as Headquarters of all the churches. Presently in the organization there are nine churches and one mission located in Georgia, Florida and Alabama.
We are appreciative to God for our present leader, Bishop-elect Arthur Fulton, whose leadership has taken this ministry to another level and dimension of faith. Through the vision that God has placed in his heart, we are determined to "Fulfill the Mission of the Church."
