Villa Park VFW

39 E Saint Charles Road
630-834-8191

Ever since its founding more than 100 years ago, the VFW has donated milions upon millions of volunteer hours, been a strong supporter of our country's youth, been a major supporter of patriotic and educational efforts and been an unwavering advocate to our military, its veterans, and their families. Of all we do, our programs make the greatest impact on the lives of those we serve and honor.

For many years, our programs were supported by VFW membership dues alone. Then they were supplemented by donations from our members and the public.

The VFW Foundation's mission is simple: support programs to increase awareness of the sacrifices of America's veterans; promote citizenship education, volunteerism and positive youth programs; and facilitate medical, rehabilitative, educational and employment services and needs for veterans and their families.

In this spirit your community VFW Post 2801 supports many events and organizations. Below are just a few examples of what we do:

Every year for over 40 years Post 2801 has partnered with the Village of Villa Park to organize and make possible our annual Independence Day Parade.

Our post through volunteers and support help provide the annual Welcome Home All Veterans event. This event provides not only entertainment but vital information for our returning veterans. We partner with organizations like the VA Administration, Hines VA Hospital, Cantigny Park and others to assure our veterans are knowledgeable about their benefits available to them.

The Villa Park VFW has hosted a Thanksgiving Day dinner for naval recruits from the Great Lake Naval Base for over 20 years. Our post along with many community volunteers and supporters provide a full turkey dinner along with computers, video games, phones and entertainment to provide a fun day for over 150 recruits.

We also help support The Chicago Homeless Sandwich Run which for 18 years has been providing more than 1,100 sandwiches, snacks, coffee, and juice each week to over 800 people each week, of which 35-40% are Veterans.
