About Us:
The village of Beulah is located in Benzie County, in the Traverse City metro area. Beulah is the county seat. Benzie County has been recognized as one of the fastest growing counties in Michigan.
Beulah rests on the southeast shore of Crystal Lake about one mile north of on U.S. Highway 31 and about 7 miles east of Lake Michigan.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.4 miles, none of which is covered by water. Beulah has long been known as a summer vacation destination.
History:
Founded about 1880 by Reverend Charles E. Bailey and named by him after a place described in the Bible.
Beulah separated from Benzonia and was given a post office on February 8, 1892, with Charles S. Merritt as its first postmaster.
Beulah was incorporated as a village in 1932.
