The events, facts and objects of the past weave a unique story about the heritage of Waseca County. The Society offers a window of understanding to those who seek knowledge of the past whether they come as well-rooted residents, visitors or newly transplanted citizens.
About the WCHS Museum
Our main facility is the WCHS Museum at 315 Second Avenue N.E., the former Waseca Methodist Church. It is a unique space as the original stained glass windows are intact, and the crowning architectural feature is the huge dome ceiling over the main exhibit area, the former sanctuary of the church. In June 2000 local artist/member, Mark Barens, undertook the project of painting the interior of the dome, applying the design motifs of our stained glass windows. The main museum houses the exhibit area, museum gift shop, offices, storage, and archival production.
