About Us:

The Wilmington Community Unit School District is located in the Kankakee River Valley, about 50 miles south of Chicago. Our small community of about 6,000 residents enjoys the lush greenery and outdoor recreation. The WCUSD schools take small-town feel to heart, offering a quality education in a close-knit, family atmosphere.

The four schools within our district bring about the best in educational quality, resources, and services for the children and families of Wilmington. From quality early childhood education at Bruning Elementary to college and career readiness at Wilmington High School, our schools dedicate their resources to student success and rigorous curriculum. Our district parent-teacher organization raises funds to provide programming and services that state funding does not cover, allowing teachers to dream big without the restriction of a price tag.
