About
Wilson Elementary School is a Kindergarten through 5th grade school in Wilson, Wyoming. This small school sits at the south end of Grand Teton National Park and at the base of a mountain pass. Our 230 students identify strongly and proudly as Wilson School Students. The staff is committed to building a school community that includes students, parents, teachers and local residents and businesses. We work from a theme each year to make our activities and instruction coherent across the grade levels. This year, we went with the idea that we are all under construction. Hence, we are a "Kidstruction" zone. We believe in educating the whole child and to that end we celebrate academics, the arts and physical fitness. Due to our location in a mountain wonderland, our students have the opportunity to take downhill skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, figure skating and hockey lessons. As a school, we are very proud of our Multi-tiered System of Supports. Staff members meet weekly to analyze formative assessment data in order to plan academic and social activities that meet students where they are and set the path for them to achieve at their highest levels. Finally, we believe school should be a joyous and fun place. We celebrate students and staff at whole-school assemblies where we sing our student-composed school song; "Wilson Elementary School where learning is the coolest tool. A view of Teton Mountain Range, a place to learn, to grow and change."
