The Woman's Club of Jackson is made up of women from throughout Amador County. It was founded in 1910 with this stated purpose: " To advance the City of Jackson in the County of Amador, State of California along the lines of Civic, Social, and Ecconomic improvement." The club has been responsible for many contributions to the community including originating a public library in the county as well as assisting in the establishing the first high school and public park. With the many contributions over the last 100 years of its existance, the Woman's Club of Jackson proudly celebrates this centennial year at a special celebration on October 9th, 2010 from 2-5 at the Jackson Civic Center. All are welcome to see what the club is all about and share in the refreshments provided.
The regular meetings occur the first Friday of the month at 47 Court Street in Jackson. The meetings include a luncheon and a speaker beginning at 11:30 a.m.
