Dr. Garo Emerzian is a board-certified podiatric surgeon specializing in foot surgery and reconstructive rear foot and ankle surgery. He has been practicing at IBJI for almost 20+ years, diagnosing and treating both simple and complex foot and ankle conditions. His practice covers a broad spectrum of care from conservative to surgical care for nail disorders, hammer toes, bunions, heel pain, nerve problems, and at foot deformities to fractures and arthritis of the foot and ankle. Dr. Emerzian treats his patients with the same care and attention he would give to his own family. A former Division 1 football player, he sustained foot and ankle injuries which help him fully understand the issues, concerns and treatment associated with these injuries. In addition to his football injuries, he also has his own experience with a foot deformity, enabling him to relate personally to his patients’ condition and issues associated with this foot type.
He has served as an instructor and lecturer for the Illinois Podiatric Medical Society and has also participated in the training of residents. For the past 10 years, he has served as an assistant varsity football coach at Deerfield High School. He also enjoys spending time with his family and watching his children participate in their activities and sports. His hobbies are working out, playing basketball and golfing.
