I became Managing Physician for the Walter L. Aument (WLA) Family Health Center and a member of the family medicine residency program faculty in June 2019 after being in practice with LG Health Physicians Family Medicine Strasburg for 7 years. I graduated from University of Maine with a B.S. in Biology and remained in the northeast to attend medical school at University of Vermont. I was a resident in the family medicine program at Lancaster General Hospital from 1993-1996, and went on to complete a Faculty Development (Teaching) Fellowship and joined the faculty until 2000. I then returned to my home state of Maine to practice rural family medicine including OB care from 2000-2006 in private practice in Biddeford. During that time, I obtained my Lactation Consultant Certification. My family was drawn back to Pennsylvania to continue my medical career at Women and Babies Hospital (WBH), the first hospital in PA to be designated Baby Friendly by the World Health Organization. WBH continues to hold this designation today. In 2014, I received the Physician Achievement Award from the LG Health Medical and Dental Staff for leadership and communication for my work toward this designation. My personal and professional goals include teaching the next generations of family physicians to provide outpatient care including procedures, chronic disease management, psychosocial aspects of disease, and preventive medicine in preparation for their futures while providing excellent care to their patients. Currently, I provide prenatal care to 28 weeks, perform a vast array of procedures incuding dermatologic, gynecologic, and musculoskeletal, and acute/chronic disease management while working with patients to maintain healthy lifestyles through good choices and habits.
