Mallory Swenson, PT has been practicing at The Iowa Clinic since 2013 when the Ankeny clinic opened. The Iowa Clinic can thank her husband, Aaron, for bringing Mallory's talent here. One day he left a flyer from the mail out on the counter about the new Ankeny location, which prompted her to interview. Mallory loved The Iowa Clinic and Physical Therapy Department immediately.
Ever since the 4th grade, Mallory wanted to be a nurse, but after a year of nursing school, she came to the realization she was not a fan of blood or hospitals. However, she still possessed a strong medical passion. This led her to shadow a physical therapist, which is when she decided to become a PT herself. Mallory finds joy in seeing the difference in a patient's functional level from the day they start PT to the day they leave. Spending about 80 minutes with a patient per week, Mallory can develop strong relationships with her patients - another aspect of physical therapy that she loves. A particular area of interest for Mallory is vestibular/vertigo.
