After teaching high school for two years, Dr. Liss obtained a master’s degree from MIT in environmental science before earning his medical degree from Temple University. His post graduate medical training includes an Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, Illinois, and a spinal surgery fellowship in Chicago.
A native of Philadelphia, Dr. Liss settled in Pittsburgh and has been practicing Orthopaedic Surgery here since 1990, joining Greater Pittsburgh Orthopaedic Associates in 2019.
Dr. Liss treats a broad range of orthopaedic conditions, focusing on operative and non-operative care of the neck and back. His fundamental approach to providing care is conservative. Once the diagnosis is established, Dr. Liss works with his patients to make sure they understand all of their treatment options, and actively participate in decision making for their care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Liss enjoys riding his bicycle, Masters Swimming, gardening, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He and his wife, C.J., are proud city of Pittsburgh residents.
