Sunil Penesetti is board certified and fellowship-trained in cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. He obtained his undergraduate degree from New York University in New York, NY and earned his medical degrees from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Seton Hall University in Newark, NJ and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, NY. He went on to complete a fellowship in preventive cardiology at NYU Langone Health in New York, NY along with a fellowship in cardiac imaging at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, NY.
Dr. Penesetti’s medical interests include a comprehensive range of diagnostic and treatment for many cardiac conditions including an emphasis on preventive cardiology. He treats cardiac conditions which include aortic valve stenosis, mitral regurgitation, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia.
Dr. Penesetti is Chief of Medical Staff at SSM Health Monroe Clinic Medical Group. He is also a member of the American College of Cardiology and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, and National Board of Echocardiography. In addition, Dr. Penesetti is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
While not at work, Dr. Penesetti enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, biking, golf, basketball, baseball, and soccer and is a self-proclaimed car enthusiast. He also enjoys traveling and says Italy is a favorite destination due to the culture and the food.
