Sunday, March 9, 2025

12:00 – 5:00 pm

Redondo Beach Pier

100 Fisherman's Wharf, Redondo Beach, CA 90277

The annual kite festival at the Redondo Beach Pier is one of the longest-running kite festivals in the country. The public is welcome to join other kite flying enthusiasts on the beach south of the Pier adjacent to The Esplanade bike path.  Guests can bring their own kites, or purchase from the wide selection of kites available on the Pier.

This all-ages free event is open to the public and prizes are awarded for the best hand-made kite, best line laundry, biggest kite, longest kite, youngest flier and youngest at heart.  Scott Brady of X Kites will be judging the kites and awarding prizes throughout the event.  Scott and his son will  assist with kite assembly, kite repairs or other kite issues like a tangled line.

Other highlights include a martial arts demonstration, dance performance and live music featuring 1969 classic rock band throughout the day.  The festival will culminate with a mass group kite ascension flight on the beach immediately south of the pier.
