Inspired by iconic Afro-Puerto Rican poets Piri Thomas and Pedro Pietri, Rivera presents his original poetry alongside a live Latin musical ensemble, featuring Philadelphia’s Los Bomberos de la Calle, Tosstones, Will Gato Brown, Kyle Just Sole Clark, and Dr. Jay Fluellen. The performance will merge vibrant sounds of salsa, bomba, and plena, illuminating stories rooted in Afro-Puerto Rican culture and identity.
