The John Baboian/Danny Harrington Ensemble is celebrating 50 years of making music together!
Harrington, a baritone saxophonist, has been a professor at Berklee College of Music since 1978. He is a member of the college’s Harmony Department, which teaches the theory of American popular music from the early 20th century to present. Before joining the faculty, Harrington toured with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra under the direction of Buddy Morrow. He has performed with Nick Brignola, Gary Burton, Herb Pomeroy, Gary Smulyan, and Joe Lovano, as well as leading his own group since 1980.
Baboian, a guitarist and artistic director for the Art of Jazz series, has been a member of the college's faculty since 1980. His performances and teaching clinics have taken him around the world, but he still enjoys playing in his hometown of Watertown, Massachusetts. Baboian has shared the stage with a host of well-known performers, including Frankie Avalon, Sergio Franchi, Connie Francis, Al Martino, and Jim Nabors. He has written for a number of television shows, and had a cameo appearance in the feature film Ted.
Art of Jazz is our live music series featuring Berklee faculty artists, now in its 15th season!
