ASTA Young Artist Honors Orchestra Festival


Hosted by the Wisconsin Chapter of the American String Teachers Association

Overview: The purpose of this event is to support and encourage the beginning level string player. The one-day event is open to students completing their first .5 year to 2.5 years of study and who play violin, viola, cello or string bass.

Nomination: Students are nominated by their school orchestra teacher OR their private studio teacher. For the WI Rapids site, there is no limit as to how many students can be nominated by each teacher. For the West Allis site, each teacher may nominate up to 8 students. Should a teacher wish to nominate more than 8, please contact Sue Chandler at [email protected] for availability of space/instrumentation. Students who receive an application from their teacher must enroll directly on-line through UW-Whitewater Continuing Education. The absolute deadline for student enrollment is:
