The 81st Temple City Camellia Festival will take place at Temple City Park under the leadership of General Chairman Matt Byers. For anyone who knows Matt, this year’s theme of “Music!” is a perfect match. The Grand Marshal this year is the Temple City High School Musical Program, which is celebrating 60 years of productions. The Honorary Grand Marshal is beloved teacher and coach Mike Tomasulo. There will be a few surprises this year, including a performance at the beginning of the parade in front of the Grandstand, musical alumni participating as part of the Grand Marshal contingent, and a Musical Alumni Reunion immediately following the Parade in the Beer Garden Tent.
The evening performances at the Performing Arts Pavillion will be Coyote Five on Friday night Entertainment at the Festival is always free, and we hope everyone will come out to enjoy the fun! In the Beer Garden there will be bingo with Ramrodders on Friday night.
The Temple City Camellia Festival has a long-standing tradition in our community and always focuses on our youth with donations each year given to youth groups and organizations whose focus is on our local youth. Last year the Camellia Festival Committee was thrilled to donate a record amount of $22,900. In addition to donations, the Camellia Festival booth operators, other than the Carnival Company, are all non-profit organizations—so come out and support: PTA, Scouts, AYSO, and Clubs! Don’t forget to save money and purchase tickets and wristbands BEFORE the Festival.
