Folks welcome to come, commune with one another, and remember our dear friend.

It is through falling tears and a sadness as deep as the deepest well on earth that we announce the passing of our beloved friend, Becky Blanchard.

Becky was one of the long-time Co-Directors of Stonington for over 38 years before retiring in 2021. She was among those humans on earth who understand that all obstacles can be transcended by manifesting pure joy and positivity and she lived her life that way. She overflowed with light and love and laughter. She was wise, she was warm, she was brilliant, she was nurturing. Becky is woven into the fabric of Stonington-walk into our beautiful gallery and she is all around you. It was Becky’s clear vision that set Stonington on the path to being the incredible gallery it is today.

Becky had the unique ability of sweeping everyone off their feet the second they stepped through the front door of the gallery-ever the hostess, only ever giving to everyone around her-artists and clients alike. She was the person who could put an entire room at ease with her gorgeous voice and bright energy. There wasn’t a person she couldn’t inspire when talking about the Northwest Coast art and artists she loved dearly, and who she continued to miss and think about daily throughout her retirement years.

Becky taught us so many things about life and art and love and family. We will miss her forever, are deeply grateful for having known her, and are certain she will continue to smile at us through the breeze and the cedar trees evermore.

It will be an open house event and any who wish to share words will be welcome to do so. We hope you will join us to celebrate the life of our friend, Becky.
