Warm up for running season by participating in the 41st Annual Irish Jig 5K, one of Michigan’s premier 5K (3.1 mile) road races!

Since 1983, runners and walkers have celebrated St. Patrick’s Day and the unofficial start to the spring race season through the Irish Jig. Some wear greens and oranges to commemorate the day, while others dress to beat the time on their watches. What is the same for everyone is that our USA Track & Field Certified Course through East Grand Rapids provides opportunities for everyone to have fun.

Our field size is limited to 4,500 participants. Register before it sells out. Lock your shirt in by registering by February 17; participants who register after this date are not guaranteed to receive a shirt.

Awards:

Awards will be presented at the awards ceremony at approximately 9:30 a.m. in the East Grand Rapids High School gym after the Irish Jig.

Top age group winners and qualifying teams receive prizes and top overall finishers receive cash awards.

Results will be posted as they become available in the East Grand Rapids High School gym.
Individual Awards

Age group awards are based on chip time.
Awards will be given for first to fifth place in 12 and younger age groups, and for first to third place in 13 and older age groups.
Age group awards will be available for pick-up in the gym beginning at 9:30 a.m. Awards not picked up after the race will be mailed to recipients.

Team Awards

Team awards are based the cross-country method of scoring.
Awards will be given for first to third place in all three divisions (Corporate A and B and Social).
Team awards will be available for pick-up in the gym beginning at 9:30 a.m. Awards not picked up after the race will be mailed to recipients.

Prize Money

Prize money is awarded based on gun time
Participants younger than 18 and college runners are not eligible
