The Sisters In Service Foundation in partnership with the Sigma Mu Omega chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority will host the 30th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Breakfast at the Veterans Memorial Civic Center. Adult tickets will cost $15, and tickets for children ages 10 and younger will cost $7. The theme this year is “be the change.” The featured speaker will be Angela K. Davis, a corporate sales executive who serves on the Ohio PBS Family Advisory Committee and is the vice president of the Greater Dayton Alumni Chapter of Central State University. Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith will also give a statement of occasion. Attendees will have the opportunity to donate to a community-wide service project which will donate new books to children in grades preschool through 12th grade. All donors will receive a ticket for a raffle.
