Michael T Smith lives, works, and paints in the Finger Lakes region of New York. With loose gestural marks and layered applications of paint, Mike seeks to not only capture his surroundings as a scene, but also as time. Each painting begins with exploration on country roads, creek beds, and scenic vistas.

Storms is a study on the beauty of movement and change. Drawing from personal experiences and the striking landscapes of the Finger Lakes, this collection aim to capture the awe and wonder of life’s turbulent moments. With vibrant skies and shifting horizons, my intention was to blur the line between chaoes and playfulness, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the freedom of unpredictability.
