Make plans to be in Smithville Texas for the 33rd Annual Festival of Lights our theme this year is "Polar Express" in Smithville!
It will be a day full of fun and activities including pictures with Santa, food, vendors and much more! 40,000lbs of real snow will be blown that morning in preparation for snow tubing and friendly snow ball throwing in the kid zone!
Plus, you don't want to miss the Indoor Arts and Crafts Expo at the Rec Center, the famous Ann Powell Express train will be providing complimentary rides throughout the day and we will end the evening with our Lighted Holiday Parade!
Schedule of Events:
7:30 am - 8:00 am: Registration begins for Gingerbread Trot 5k - Gingerbread Trot 5k Starts (at Smitty's Court) with participant and friends after-party celebration to announce winners! Download Registration/Waiver Form: Gingerbread Trot Registration/Waiver Form
09:00 am - 4:00 pm: Outdoor vendors will setup along Main Street, and the vendors for the Indoor Arts and Craft Show will be at the Rec center. (train rides to the Rec Center and back to Main will be going on throughout the day)
09:00 am - 5:00 pm: Snow Tubing and Friendly Snow Ball Fights with 40,000lbs of Real Snow in the Kid Zone (next to the chamber office and gazebo), Enjoy Hot Cocoa, Food, Free Pictures with Santa and more!
10:00 am - 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm: Free Pictures with Santa at the Gazebo
06:30 pm: Lighting of the Gazebo and Art Contest Winners will be announced
06:45 pm - 7:00 pm: The streets will start to clear, and we will get ready for the Festival of Lights Parade. The Parade will begin at 7pm (registration forms for the parade will be available soon)
