Our annual French Film Festival is supported by Albertine Cinémathèque, a program of FACE Foundation and Villa Albertine, with support from the CNC / Centre National du Cinema, and SACEM / Fonds Culturel Franco-Américain.

This year’s festival line-up centers on the idea of destiny and features an eclectic selection of contemporary and classic films from across the Francophone world. In each film, protagonists are transformed by forces and circumstances beyond their control. From the thwarted lovers at the heart of Banel & Adama to the family torn apart by extremist forces in Four Daughters, our series celebrates the varied ways that individuals respond to personal challenges with resilience, humor, strength, courage, and love.

Schedule of Events:

The festival will kick off, with a special double feature screening of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and La La Land. Jacques Demy's dazzling film served as a core inspiration for the color design, quotidian choreography, and emotional tone of Damien Chazelle’s modern musical and we are excited for the chance to share these two, heart-wrenching musicals with you in one night. The festival will continues with weekly screenings in April 2024.
