First Day Hikes is a national-led effort that encourages individuals and families to experience, with a seasoned guide, the beautiful natural and cultural resources found in the outdoors and in doing so may inspire them to take advantage of these treasures throughout the year and an individual’s lifetime. Nature has been proven to boost our moods and make us feel healthy and exploring the outdoors is the perfect way to start the new year.
Location: Drive to the top. There is a parking lot. We will meet at the amphitheater steps in front of the Visitor Center.
Parking: Parking fees are $2 per hour or $6 per day.
What to Expect: Let the beauty of our coastal sage scrub habitat inspire you, let nature nurture your growth, and step forward confidently into the new year. We will share our goals and positive intentions while mindfully reflecting.
Length of Hike: 0.6 mile, 1 hours
Preparation: We recommend wearing closed-toed shoes for your safety. Please wear layers for your comfort. Hydrate before coming and bring your water bottles. Pack a snack or lunch should you want to picnic afterward.
Special Instructions: Heavy rain will cancel hike.
Ages: All ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
