Start the year off on the right foot and join us for a hike at Hueco Tanks!!

Celebrate the first day of 2025 with an outdoor adventure! Join rangers and volunteers for a New Year’s Day hike at Hueco Tanks.

We will have three hikes to choose from: Strenuous, Moderate, and Family-Friendly/Accessible hikes.

9am Strenuous Hike: This is a 4+ mile hike that will last at least three hours. Participants are required to hike up steep and slick rock faces, walk along canyon edges, step over deep crevices, and will be going over our backcountry mountains to see some amazing views. For safety reasons, participants must be at least 13 years old.

10am Moderate Hike: This is a 2-mile hike that will take visitors to see and experience the unique natural and cultural history of Hueco Tanks. Some hiking on uneven and steep surfaces.

10:30am Family-Friendly/Accessible Hike: Take an easy stroll with a guide to see the unique plants, wildlife and views of North Mountain. This tour is wheelchair accessible and great for families with young children/strollers.

Don’t forget water, snacks, and appropriate apparel.

Reservations required: (915) 857-1135. Pets are not allowed on tour.

Fee: Tour fee is waived with purchase of entrance permit, which is $7 for adults 13 and older.
