First Day Hikes is a national-led effort that encourages individuals and families to experience, with a seasoned guide, the beautiful natural and cultural resources found in the outdoors and in doing so may inspire them to take advantage of these treasures throughout the year and an individual’s lifetime. Nature has been proven to boost our moods and make us feel healthy and exploring the outdoors is the perfect way to start the new year.

Location: Guides will be available in the Historic Adobe.

Parking: Public Parking available in front of the park.

What to Expect: Join us *JANUARY 3rd* for a stroll at Pio Pico SHP. Take in the landscape and feel as if you have travelled back in time to the mid 1800’s and with the help of our scavenger hunt discover hidden and not so hidden places in our park.

Length of Hike: 0.2 mile, 6 hours

Preparation: Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a bottle of water.  

Special Instructions: Event will happen rain or shine.

Ages: All Ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
