Join the park naturalist to earn your West Virginia State Park First Day hiking patch! The Cliffside Trail is a moderate 3.5 mile hike, so be sure to bring water and sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Hike starts at 1 p.m., meet at the Cliffside trailhead. The trail begins with a gentle slope along a ridgetop but becomes rocky and strenuous at the outer loop that goes through rhododendron thicket. Two prominent vistas can be seen on the outer loop.
