First Day Hike! - Self Guided

Join in a long-standing tradition happening throughout the nation and take a hike on New Year's Day.

Start your new year off right by getting outside and participating in a nation-wide event: First Day Hike 2025!

You can attend any of the guided hikes provided by the park BUT if you want to do things at your own pace, that's ok!

Stop by HQ to pick up a trail map and an optional scavenger hunt. Hike any one of our four trails anytime between 8 AM and 4 PM. After you're done, go back to headquarters to record your miles and receive a fun First Day Hike sticker to show off your accomplishments.

Bring: Good walking shoes, water, binoculars (if you have them), and dress for the weather. Have Fun!

Park programs are open to the public and free with park entrance ($4 per person ages 13 and up; children 12 and under are free). No need to register - just show up!
