Kick off the New Year with a hike through nature

Choose from any of our beautiful trails to enjoy the sights, sounds, and fresh start to the year. Not sure which trail to take? No worries—we’ll help you find the perfect route to suit your needs!

Participants will receive an official First Day Hike sticker upon completion!

How to Participate:

- Hike any trail of your choice between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
- After your hike, stop by Headquarters to record your miles and claim your First Day Hike sticker.

Share the Experience: Snap some photos along the way and post them to social media to inspire others to start their year with adventure!

What to Bring:

Dress for the weather.
Wear closed-toed shoes.
Bring plenty of water.
A sense of adventure and curiosity!

Fees: Entrance is included with park admission. Adults are $5 per person, children 12 and under are no charge. Texas State Park Pass holders admitted free of charge!
