Exeter, CA – The Center for Art, Culture, and History—Exeter (CACHE), will be hosting a solo art exhibition by Melinda Scott titled Joy of Life. It will be on display from April 5 through June 29, 2025. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, April 5, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Melinda Scott began painting early in life and attended the Art Institute in Dallas, Texas, but chose to pursue a career in graphic design and marketing. Her artistic affinity proved valuable as she developed a successful career as a marketing director for different companies throughout the years. Fourteen years ago, she left the corporate world and began nurturing her original passion in life—painting.

She first started painting when she was in elementary school, with her grandmother paying for her first private art lessons. She fondly remembers her grandmother’s support of her art as she would sit and watch her paint. As she entered high school, Melinda started taking her art more seriously, deciding then she wanted to make a life of it; but it wasn’t until recently that dream became a reality.

"Sometimes you go through the motions of life making a living, but one day you realize you have ventured so far from the person you were created to be. Over the last couple of years, I have had the rare opportunity to live the life I have always dreamed about. When I graduated high school, the only thing I wanted to do was paint and sell my art. I have been blessed beyond measure because now I make a living doing what I love," says Scott. She titled this show Joy of Life because "Not only is painting one of my greatest joys, but so are the moments and subjects I’ve captured on canvas."

All artwork will be on sale during the length of the exhibition. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit our website at www.cach-exeter.org
