Sheldon Fine Art welcomes the art of contemporary impressionist painter Joyce Norwood for an exhibition titled "Playing in the Sand", which will showcase a retrospective of never-before-seen paintings from Joyce's archives. These paintings range from her familiar nostalgic beach scenes to lush floral still lives. The show opens March 13, 2025, with special VIP pricing from 12-4 p.m. only. The exhibit will remain on view through March 25, 2025. The gallery is located at 460 Fifth Avenue South, Naples, FL.

Norwood is a native of North Carolina, born one of ten girls in a small mountain town in N.C.. Her training began at the New York Art Students League, studying with Robert Brackman and William Draper. Joyce furthered her studies at the Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown, where her eyes were opened to how "sunlight affects color" and how to interpret that light, thereby creating her radiant palette. Joyce works in oils, using knives as well as brushes. Her favorite subjects are figures and boats. She is well known for her portraits of children on the beach, and has the ability to capture the likeness and mannerisms of her subjects.

Joyce's paintings are highly sought after and collected internationally. A digital preview of the works in the exhibit will be available upon request prior to the opening. For more information about Sheldon Fine Art, Joyce Norwood, or the event, please call 239-649-6255 or email [email protected].
