For years we gathered on Dickson Street on Fat Tuesday, bringing a “second line parade” of costumed revelers and musicians throughout establishments on Dickson, spreading cheer and passing out beads. The event, in part, was an effort “… to bring an influx of business to the downtown Fayetteville area at a time of year that is otherwise low on cash flow”, a part of our Mission Statement. It has been a few years since the Fayetteville Mardi Gras has held an official event on Fat Tuesday, but our mission to support local businesses remains strong.

This year we will be hosting the first annual Fat Tuesday Pub & Grub Crawl on Tuesday, March 4th, in the Dickson Street Entertainment District. This will be a more traditional pub crawl than in years past, but with the exciting addition of food establishments as well as bars. But just because it’s a more traditional crawl, it will be anything but traditional! Costumed revelers from our krewes will be following a lively band that will join the festivities, and will bring a real Fat Tuesday party – and beads – to the streets. The event, which will be held on Fat Tuesday, March 4th from 5-10 pm, promises to be an exciting evening of Fat Tuesday fun!
