Join us for a memorable morning of culture and conversation with award-winning author Beena Kamlani, as she discusses her debut novel, The English Problem, and her journey through literature and publishing. Kamlani’s work, which has graced publications like Virginia Quarterly Review, Ploughshares, and World Literature Today, brings to life the nuanced impacts of colonialism and cultural identity. Her novel explores the lingering effects of Britain’s colonial past and how these tensions shape identity and belonging.
Kamlani, a Pushcart Prize-winning author and former senior editor at the Penguin Group, spent nearly two decades teaching book editing at New York University, where she received an award for teaching excellence. Her work has been recognized by prestigious fellowships at Yaddo, MacDowell, Hedgebrook, and more.
